QAMT is initiating a program for you to show that your school is actively extending your students and teachers beyond the normal mathematics classroom.
Benefits to your school:
· Application is free, there are no charges to become a
· Your school will be issued with a certificate that it can display on a notice board and/or your school’s website to show that it is Maths Active.
· Your school’s name will appear on the QAMT website as a
· You will be given an official copy of the Maths Active Logo that you can display on your school’s website (with a link to the QAMT website).
AAMT our national body are keen to promote the idea and if after trialling; the concept is successful other states and territories will follow Queensland's lead.
To become a maths active school certain conditions have to be met annually. There are 3 levels, bronze, silver and gold; each level building on the previous levels attainment.
Our first Gold Maths Active School is Jindalee SS
and our first Silver Maths Active School is Westside Christian College.
Other Maths active schools are Moreton Bay College(Gold), St Peter Claver College (Silver) and Mt Alvernia College (Silver)
